Good evening all. Here is Zoe’s update for 11/3/09.
The doctor listened earnestly at Zoe’s heart today and then reported that the murmur sounds much softer. This, as well as the sustained urine output [which is up] and her ability to digest the milk she is receiving [she no longer is using suppositories] indicates that it seems the ibuprofen is doing its job. Last round of medicine tomorrow and then we will see what develops.
Her stats seem great and from what the nurses say, she is using the ventilator less. The staff is slowly working toward getting the tube out of her mouth. We are hopeful! Since she is so stable, the plan is for Phil to hold Zoe tonight. I will make sure that we get some pics posted tomorrow.

They did move Zoe to a more quiet part of the NICU, hopefully she will be less fussy since there is less noise. Of course this means that she will no longer reside next to 'Elvis'. Well, she was too young to date anyway!
The only ‘bad news’ of the day was that the brain scan did reveal some bleeding {Level 1}, which means that I am counting on time and prayers (I am fairly certain that prayer wasn't prescribed by any doctor but that doesn’t mean I can’t prescribe it. Did everybody get the hint?) to heal the bleeding and ensure that it will leave no ill effects on my daughter. The new doctor, Dr. Lagatta, will be sharing these scans with some more doctors at the Children's Hospital to get additional opinions [just because she can]. Everything I read about this problem says that it is typical, especially considering her age, and that up to a Level 2 is no reason for alarm and we should not be too concerned. Still… I would rather trust in prayer. After all no one cares for bleeding on the brain. So, do I need to drop that hint again?
Well hope you had a good Tuesday.

I'm so happy that Zoe is doing so well. We were all just blown away that she had been born already, as I think you had said she was due on Valentine's Day. Zoe is definitely in our prayers. There was a prayer in church last week for her, too. I pray that God will bless her with good health and she'll grow up to be a healthy bouncing bundle of a baby. I can't get over just how small she is right now. I think the only way to not be worried night and day about her is to know that really God is in control of her. Nothing is going to happen to her without God's doing. She is truly in God's hands. I'm sure she must have at least a dozen angels watching over her, too. I've rambled on long enough. Sorry it took so long to respond, just a lot going on over here this week......you are all in our prayers.....K Thomford
Love the Lord your God... obey His voice.
Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Jesus said "the things which are impossible for man with are possible with God."
Heavely Father, we ask in Jesus name to heal Zoe's bleeding on the her brain and heal her lungs continuously and bless her with marvellous health so that she can grow for Your glory, O God.
Give us an opportunity to tune our heart, to sing of Thy grace and rejoice through Zoe's journey.
We pray this name of Jesus Amen.
